CES Camera Extravaganza: It's new compacts galore at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas

Olympus and Kodak used the bright lights of Las Vegas's Consumer Electronic Show to launch a range of new cameras, with both manufacturers headlining their launches with brand new superzoom models. Olympus led the way by announcing the latest model in its UZ series - the SP-590UZ (above left). Boasting a 26x optical zoom and offering a whopping 26-676mm in 35mm equivalent terms, the model is claimed to offer 'the most powerful optical performance in minimum size'.
