As Sony looks to consolidate its cameras under the Alpha brand, the A5000 replaces the NEX-3N in Sony's casual shooting range. It has the same 20.1MP APS-C sensor as the A3000, but adds NFC and Wi-Fi connectivity allowing users to connect and control the camera using the Sony PlayMemories app via a smartphone or tablet. The Bionz-X processor in the A5000 adds detail reproduction software, diffraction reduction technology, area-specific noise reduction and is up to three times faster than the processing speed of the previous Bionz sensor we saw in the NEX-5. 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens mounted.
