Carrying out this work has allowed us to conclude that: Welding with a CTWD of 35 mm shows a map with transfers in the SC and GLr modes, and a SC-GLr transition region. It allowed welding in a band of feed speed higher than that obtained with a CTWD of 20 mm. Welding with a CTWD of 20 mm showed the GL transfer mode as well as the SC and GLr modes. In the band investigated, others modes of metal transfer, such as goticular or goticular with lengthening, which are present in solid wires and other tubular wires, were not seen. The increase in the CTWD, as well of leading to a reduction in the welding current for a constant voltage and feed speed, increased the areas of metal transfer for higher values of voltage and faster feed speeds.
