Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, is celebrating the global marketing launch of its Dispersogen~R PL -range of dispersing agents for waterborne pigment preparations. Aimed at organic pigments and carbon blacks, the new dispersants give architectural coatings extra brightness and brilliance -thanks to their high pigment loading. The patented copolymers are able to create dispersions with more than 50 percent pigment, significantly more than conventional loadings. And the Dispersogen PL -range does this without sacrificing flowability. Viscosities of its pigment dispersions are within the range of 50-500 mPAs. Similarly loaded conventional pigment preparations, by contrast, turn often to a much higher viscosity.
