Infiniti EX A new Lexus rival is UK-bound and this compact 4x4 is its main player

MAKE WAY FOR Nissan's Lexus. Infiniti, Nissan's flagship brand, is heading for the UK in about a year's time. It promises to match or surpass the cuslomer-is-king approach to sales and service taken by Lexus, Toyota's luxury division. Infiniti has so far operated solely in North America, but now it is spreading its wings with a range of four models (see panel, page 16) spearheaded by the EX, a compact crossover that fuses design elements from coupes and 4x4s. All the cars coming to the UK will be new models designed to have global appeal and will have suspensions tuned for European roads. Some of the development work has been carried out in the UK. Infiniti claims they'll match BMWs for driving ability.
