Colin Piercy who farms 320 ACMC sows at Stil-lington in partnership with his wife Jill and son Thomas, was once told by a vet that he sought too much perfection. What it really boils down to is that Colin wants things right. Down to the smallest detail. This has served him well over the years. Colin and Jill jumped at the chance to start on a greenfield site in 1994, after their former unit was sold for building. A new farmhouse was built. All the pigs were to be kept outdoors up to 30 kilos, as having bought the 70 acre holding with limited buildings on it, they were keen to keep on producing pigs without the added expense of intensive buildings.
