Since the introduction of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), agriculture in general has been quick to adopt new renewable-energy technologies such as biomass boilers, that are fuelled mainly by wood chip or wood pellets. There has been a huge uptakeby broiler chicken growers, where biomass systems have been installed to replace gas and oil heating systems.
