Canada Prolific oil sands are supplying petroleum resources to Canada and the USA

Some 30 years ago Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau said that Canada's main exports to the USA were hockey players and cold fronts. Not any more! Petroleum is now the main commodity we get from our friendly neighbor to the north. Earlier this year, we were importing approximately 2.5 million net BOPD from Canada. That's about one-third of our total oil imports. At $100 a pop, that also represents more than $250 million on a good day or close to $90 billion a year.
