DeKalb Swine Breeders' main production operation - which includes the headquarters, training school and genetic AI complex, as well as most of its production units - is based in Liberal, Kansas, in the heart of the American Mid-West. DeKalb places great emphasis on training for its employees and is now extending this-'to its customers. At the training school we were introduced to the American approach to stockmanship training. It is taken very seriously and everyone, regardless of position, starts from the bottom and works right through the programme.
