摘要

The objective was to develop powder alloys which are suitable for powder plasma weld surfacing and have high wear resistance and good corrosion resistance. Three Fe-Cr-V-C alloys were short-listed after preliminary tests. The microstructure was analysed, the hardness measured and the corrosion and wear resistances investigated. The properties achieved were comparable with those of an austenitic nickel hard alloy and of a martensitic special knife steel and, in part, even better.
