摘要

Interpersonal violence in our society has become endemic. Its pervasiveness is underscored by studies suggesting that 29% of women experience intimate partner violence during their lives. Because domestic violence may eventually lead to homicide, it is imperative to identify both perpetrator and victim. Ideally, perpetrators and victims could be identified in emergency departments (EDs), leading to greater prevention and treatment (1).
