Report on the First Iranian Symposium on Mushroom Pests and Diseases held in Tehran on 21st February 2005

With the snow glistening in the sun on the Alborz Mountains which form a picturesque back-drop to the Iranian Plant Pest and Disease Research Institute, 86 mushroom-minded people gathered early in the day to take part in the first ever event of this kind to be held in Iran. Of these 86 people present, 40 were from mushroom companies, 30 were from within the research institute and the organisation, 10 were PhD students and research assistants, 4 were Professors from the University and the remaining 2were journalists.
