The Fifth International Conference on Mushroom Biology and Mushroom Products was organised by the WSMBMP (World society for mushroom biology and mushroom products) and the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and was held in the beautiful and dynamic city of Shanghai, the largest city in China. The Conference was located in the Ever-bright Convention and Exhibition Centre Hotel, a 27 floor hotel with the capacity to hold several large international conferences simultaneously. There were just over 480 delegates from 153 countries. As a major mushroom growing country on the world stage, it was impressive to see that Chinese delegates accounted for about 55% of the total.
