Italian ryegrass and catchweed bedstraw control in winter wheat with mesosulfuron combined with broadleaf herbicides

A study was established in winter wheat near Lapwai, ID to evaluate Italian ryegrass and catchweed bedstraw control and winter wheat response with mesosulfuron combined with broadleaf herbicides. The study was arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications and included an untreated check. All herbicide treatments were applied using a C02 pressurized backpack sprayer calibrated to deliver 10 gpa at 32 psi and 3 mph (Table 1). The study was oversprayed with azoxystrobin/propiconazole at 0.18 lb ai/A to control stripe rust on June 3, 2011. Wheat response and weed control were evaluated visually.
