HDC research review (23): water is the key to bruising

A common factor has emerged from the studies of mushroom bruising. Kerry Burton, Shannon Molloy and Neil Willoughby report the results of trials at HRI Wellesbourne. Problems with quality - as with pests and diseases - can arise unexpectedly in horticultural crops. As quality is so important to both consumers and retailers, horticultural managers have to respond rapidly to address any such problems if they are going to maintain the returns from their crops.
