Attitudes of undergraduate pharmacy students to drug misusers and the services provided for them

The attitudes of pharmacists and counter assistants towards drug misusers (DMs) and the services provided for them have been assessed in recent years.1'2 Work in another school of pharmacy, which examined the attitudes of pharmacy students towards the mentally ill and injecting DMs, postulated that sex, ethnic origin and previous contact were contributing factors. They recommended the development of educational methods to eliminate negative attitudes.This study aimed to investigate further influencing factors on the attitude of undergraduate pharmacy students to DMs and the service provision, establishing whether there were any differences between the years.
