Risk Management in the Deployment of Mobile Flood Defence Systems

BWK bulletin 6 deals with fundamental principles for the planning and deployment of mobile flood defence walls, and provides a risk management approach. This paper offers supplementary recommendations for qualitative risk management. In particular, itconsiders risks arising from external effects and those resulting from inaccurate underlying hydraulic data. The practical application of these recommendations is illustrated with reference to concrete problems.
