The recent deep well of Bed Kreuznach/Rhineland-Palatinate as an example for brine exploration

In 1998 a brine well was put down in the saline valley of Bad Kreuznach. The well construction consisted of glass-reinforced laminate casings to a depth of 505 metres. A deep enclosing pipe prevented infiltration of meteoric waters. Productive influxzones were developed to a depth of 420 m and the fluorine-bearing thermal brine could be used for treatment purposes in a spa. Because of its high content of methane and carbon dioxide the reduced deep water including no oxygen or sulphur is processed in several stages.
