Botulism in cattle: an increasing problem.

Changes in farm management probably play a role in the increase in cases of botulism on cattle farms. Influencing factors include the increasing use of silage and feeder mixer wagons, the presence of poultry and use of poultry droppings as manure. Recent outbreaks on Belgian dairy farms were caused by serotype D and related to the presence of poultry and poultry droppings.
