A new automatic deadweight machine for testing weighing instruments up to 3t

A new PLC controlled deadweight machine enables PTB to conduct largely automated pattern approval tests of weighing instruments up to 3 t in a walk-in climatic chamber as they are required by the International Recommendation OIML R76 and theEuropean Standard EN45501, respectively. The machine is especially designed for testing instruments for industrial applications, such as fork-lift-type and pallet weighers and platform scales, in the temperature range from-10℃ to +40℃ and for relative humidities up to 90%. The tests can be done with a relative uncertainty as small as 1×10{sup}(-5). With the new deadweight machine PTB is well prepared to meet the increasing requirements for fast, flexible and accuratetests in the field of industrial weighing technology.
