Hot Hatch! Chris Eyre reports from round 2 at Brands

WE MISSED THE first round, just after our final deadline for the August issue, but lan Carvell took his second straight win in round 2 of the new Mk 2 Golf Racing Series at Brands Hatch on July 29. With a final entry of 20 cars, including several new entrants since the previous round at Cadwell Park, an imposing presence of Golf GTIs assembled to 'do battle' on the famous 1 2-mile Indy circuit. True to expectations, competition is close; with ex-VW Racing Cup driver Carvell qualifying in pole position only 0,14 seconds ahead of top challenger Steve Kaudeur and Chris Sanders less than a second further adrift, the Indy circuit was poised for some close racing.
