If you loved the movie Out of Africa, Hamiltons gives you the opportunity to relive that colonial era — amidst the sumptuous couches, old travellers' suitcases, antique gramophone and Karen Blixen books. Hamiltons Tented Camp completely recreates theearly 18th century in the bush, and is aptly named after the first warden of the Kruger National Park, Colonel James Stevenson Hamilton. Just an hour inside Orpen Gate in central Kruger, Hamiltons is in the Mluwati Concession — one of the first to be granted in Kruger. It's right at the heart of prime game viewing territory, and hardly a night passes without the roar of lions reverberating through the surrounding bushveld.
