Presence of Pyromaia tuberculata (Lockington, 1877) adults and larvae in the Argentine continental shelf (Crustacea: Decapoda: Majoidea)

Adult and larvae of the majid crab Pyromaia tuberculata (Lockington) are reported for the first time from the Argentine continental shelf (38 deg 21 minS; 57 deg 38 minW). Males and ovigerous females were collected on oyster and mussel beds at 50 m depth. Zoeae and megalopae of P. tuberculata were also collected in plankton samples from Argentine coast (3553 min to 37 deg 55 minS, 56 deg 03 min to 57 deg 24 minW). The geographical range of P. tuberculata previously included the Pacific Ocean, and only Brazilian waters in the Atlantic.
