Physical rehabilitation is emerging as one of the faster-growing aspects of veterinary medicine, partly because of the increasing awareness of pain management in animals, Complementary forms of physical rehabilitation, including therapeutic massage, cryotherapy neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and hydrotherapy are being used by veterinary professionals to create a physical rehabilitation regimen that provides optimal results based, on the individual patient's needs. This article focuses on the role of hydrotherapy — an established form of physiotherapy in human medicine that today is receiving greater attention for canine patients.
