If you are reading this article, you most likely have either graduated from a veterinary technology program or are on-the-job trained (OJT). Regardless of which category you fall into, patient care and a love for animals is why many of us have decidedto work in this field. Our profession is certainly not for those who want to make a lot of money and retire at an early age. We are a unique group that somehow finds grueling hours, handling multiple job hazards, cleaning up animal excrement, and performing a million tasks at once very rewarding. It is the wag of a dog's tail or the purr of a cat that makes us forget the negative and carry on with our lifelong journey as animal caretakers.
