Successful project execution in international collaboration: the steam power plant in Neyveli, India

International project management is one of the success factors that must be complemented by technical competence. The Neyveli fast-track project involves a turn-key, lignite-fired steam power plant (250MW) that will be turned over to the operating Company (IPP) at the end of 2002, after a Construction period of 37 months. Consortium leader is ALSTOM Power in Germany. The key to success in this project - and in general is reduction of the conflict potential in multi-national and multi-cultural project teams.
