Operating experience with the 235 MWe lignite-fired CFB boilers at the Turow power plant

The CFB boilers at the Turow power plant in Poland are three Foster Wheeler CEB Units with a design main steam flow of 185.4 kg 5 at 540 ℃, 13.17 MPa and a reheat steam flow of 165.5 kg s at 540 ℃ and 2.45 MPa. As the CFB technology is being constantly improved, the Turow power plant made a decision to construct new units with increased efficiency (91 %) using the latest CFB technology. The capacity of three new units is increased to 260 MWe each staying within the existing footprint.
