Operating Results for the Tray Absorber Installed by Babcock Noell GmbH at the Oxyfuel Pilot Plant at the Site of Schwarze Pumpe and Tray Retrofitting in Existing Plants

The Vattenfall Europe Generation AG built at its Power Plant site Schwarze Pumpe a 30 MW pilot boiler plant for the purposes of testing a CO_2-free power plant based on the oxyfuel procedure. The Babcock Noell GmbH was commissioned with the task of constructing the FGD. This plant was put into operation in the middle of 2008 and the acceptance measurements were carried out between 27th and 30th October 2008. A pilot operation, which is set to span several years, should now provide values based on experience for the various plant parts and components which are used in the flue gas cleaning plant.
