摘要

Co-combustion of waste and/or biomass in power plants with circulating fluidized beds (CFB) running on conventional fuels entails both economical and ecological advantages. The use of biomass and waste for co-combustion is a contribution to the solution of the global CO{sub}2 problem by means of saving fossil fuels. Co-combustion of waste may lower the electricity generating costs and may thus contribute to increase the profit of a power station. However, depending on type and composition of the waste there are also some potential risks involved in co-combustion, i.e. an increase of NO{sub}x/SO{sub}x emissions due to an elevated nitrogen and sulfur input.
