The formation of biofilms in coal

Bacteria growth and bioflim formation are well known in power station operation, mainly from water treatment. On the other hand, so far little is known about biofllm formation in the coal storage yards of power stations. Bacteria activity andbiofilm formation can be traced and therefore damage can be prevented by bio-monitoring. When repairing damage, the biofilms have to be completely removed. Bacteria concentrations can be further reduced by disinfection measures.
