Outback city saves water, River Murray

NEARLY 50,000 square metres of turf and more than 7100 square metres of landscaped areas are now being watered with treated wastewater thanks to the opening of a treatment plant by the Port Augusta City Council, South Australia. Efficient water use and reducing the strain on the River Murray have been high on the council's agenda and, with the official opening of its wastewater reuse plant in October, the council is proving the two can be achieved.
