Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill., offers the best of both worlds--rolling hills surrounded by dense woodlands that are almost within view of urban sophistication. Annbriar is located just across the Jefferson Barracks Bridge spanning the Mississ ippi River at St. Louis on the southern edge of the rapidly growing Metro-East area. Owner William Nobbe established the cour se on the family farm following the death of his daughter Ann. "She was just starting in golf and wanted us to have a golf cours e here on the farm," Nobbe said. He is general manager, and his son Russ works in the pro shop. The family home remains adjacent to the course entrance.
