Clubs' co-operation ensures water supply

HISTORICALLY Ballarat, in Victoria's dividing range, is regarded by many as a relatively wet, cold place where bent greens would thrive and water problems would be few. That perception has been put to rest in recent years as the region and the city have been through a period of below average rainfall and drought, which has impacted dramatically on local sports venues. One such club affected by these conditions, the Webbcona Bowls Club, has taken action to ensure water, or the lack of it, no longer threatens the club's future.
