High water level a high priority: drainage upgrade is first step in Lincoln Greens' renovation

Starting at the beginning is usually better than starting in the middle for successful completion of any project. That's the approach being used at Lincoln Greens Golf Course in Springfield, Ill. A new irrigation system was to be the first step in amaster plan to restore Lincoln Greens, with a 700,000 dollar budet set aside to replace the Rain Bird Maxi system. Springfield Recreation owned the 240-acre course until a merger last fall between Springfield Park District and Springfield Recreation.
