A number of key industry Web sites highlight a growing debate on ag chemical exposure and children, which is leading some schools to attempt to abandon ag chemicals. Here's a sampling of sites participating in the controversy: In a report that has raised hackles throughout the chemical industry, the Journal of the America Medical Association reports that the incidence of dangerous chemical exposures among school children is on the rise. Although such exposures are rare, the study did document 2,593 cases of acute chemical related illnesses. Overall, the journal reports that incidence rates for children between 1998 and 2002 were 7.4 cases per million children and 27.3 cases per million school employees.
