Influence of the virus disease on morphology of fruit bodies and on yield of three strains of cultivated mushroom (Agaricus bisporus)

In the course of experiments three different virus particles were observed in diseased mushroom fruit bodies: two spherical particles 25 nm, 35 nm and bacilliform particles 19 X 50 nm. Their presence in affected tissue caused some types of sporophores deformation: small, slightly bent, elongated stems with smaller caps, barrel-like stems with flat caps arid early velum cracking. Mushrooms with downward tapering stipes were observed too. The disease lowered the yield up to the total loss of marketable mushrooms.
