US Steel Chairman Usher: W.T.O. Decision Seriously Flawed

Reacting to early news reports on March 26 of the W.T.O. Dispute Settlement Panel ruling against the Bush tariff measures, Thomas J Usher, Chairman and CEO of United States Steel Corp. (Pittsburgh), said in a statement, "The WTO. decision, as reported, is both inconsistent with the facts and inconsistent with the law". An obviously furious Mr. Usher said that the U.S. had "once again been subjected to the double-barrelled bias of an institution set on weakening both the position of the U.S. in the trading world and the world's trade laws, regardless of the country trying to enforce them."
