Davis-Standard, USA, recently supplied a major medical device manufacturer with a high-speed dual cavity corrugated tube line for production of adult and pediatric drapable and isoflex respirator hose. The system is capable of accurately cutting corrugated tubing at a given location relative to a cuff at line speeds up to 100ft/min with cut location precision of +-0.5mm. For increased output, a dual cavity corrugator permits a single extruder to produce two chains of corrugated tubing simultaneously. Two independent dual zone transport conveyors sort pieces of differing lengths into boxes during each corrugation cycle.
