In the next 15-20 years, beneficiation will be used for large amounts of difficult-to-beneficite, fine-impregnated, complex ore material as well as ores from dumps and beneficiation tailings. Processing them with high technico-economic indices will be possile only if there is a basic improvement in technology. The immediate priority approach to beneficiation will require improvements in the following scientific-technical areas: creation of systems to monitor the quality of the ores to be beneficiated, based on an introduction of technological mineralogy, processes to blend ores, and efficient preliminary concentration methods; the development - on a base of geological-technological mapping - of a new approach: technological mineralogy. This opens new possibilities for studying the properties of minerals to provide timely development of optimum beneficiation systems and solutions to problems of controlling flowsheets at plants.
