Selective dry cow therapy

Dry cow therapy was introduced to remove subclinical mastitis at the end of lactation, and blanket dry cow therapy is used by the majority of farmers. Many are concerned that if you move to selective dry cow therapy (SDCT) there will be problems withcell count and mastitis. If the correct procedures are followed this will not be a problem. You do need individual cow cell counts and clinical mastitis records to use SDCT.
