One small step by many men and women, one giant for the profession?

I'm no Neil Armstrong, and we didn't quite make it to the moon, but as I complete my term as President of our representative organisaton I look back with a degree of satisfaction at some of our collective achievements during the year. One of my statedambitions in my inauguration article last January was to build on the work many of us have been doing for numerous years so that it is us, the veterinary profession, that will be seen as the clear and reasoned voice that should be listened to on all matters relating to animal health, welfare and reproduction. It was, and remains, my goal to move us further along the path of being a recognised and well-respected advocacy, to be surer than ever that our opinions will not alone be heard, not alone be heeded but will be actively sought by all stakeholders.
