Tyco Flow Control has a portfolio that contains many of the world's best-known valve brands - some of which go back a century and a half. The end of the nineteenth century was particularly significant for valve technology and saw the foundation of Sempell in Germany, Crosby in the United States and Hindle in the UK - to name but a few - all companies that were later acquired by Tyco. Sempell has established an unrivalled reputation in the power and petrochemical markets, Crosby was awarded the first US ISO 9001 certificate for safety valves and Hindle designed the first cryogenic ball valve.
