摘要

The carpogenic germination of sclerotia of S. sclerotiorum in soil samples collected from different places inUttar Pradesh, India, were investigated. The percentage germination was reduced in soil that contained high concn of Na+, Ca2+, Cl- and SO42-. Similar carpogenic germination was observed in the soils that had very low amounts of Mg2+ and HCO3-. There was no uniform effect of pH on sclerotial germination but the pH of all the soil samples were >7. The ion-exchange capacity and soil nutrient status influenced apothecial germination of sclerotia. Max. positive correlation was found in Ca2+, HCO3-, Cl- and SO42- with other characters.
