I first met Ken back in the late 80's when we were both seconded on to a Linear Low Density Polyethylene project based in Ube City Yamaguchi Japan, a project destined for Indonesia. This was indeed an interesting phase for both of us in our engineering careers. Not only were we introduced to the Japanese culture it was our first exposure to eastern contractors, suppliers and engineering practices. Japanese valve manufacturers were indeed impressive. Their quality was excellent. Oh yes we were also introduced to Karaoke, sushi, seaweed and jelly fish!
