摘要

Despite the importance of skin-set in reducing skinning injury and resulting financial losses from tuber dehydration, defect development and rot during storage, nothing is known about the biochemical processes that are responsible for periderm maturation/skin-set development. Consequently, it is not possible to develop modern approaches and technologies to hasten of predict the rate of skin-set development in new or existing potato cultivars.
