Joe Donnelly 1949-2012

Joe Donnelly died on 5 November 2012,aged just 63 years, after spending a number of weeks in hospital, although Joe had been unwell since his retirement in 2009， his passing still came as a shock to his many friends and colleagues. Joe started his trading standards career in 1967 as a trainee in the weights & measures department in Kilmarnock. Upon qualification in 1971, he worked as an inspector of weights Sc measures with Ayr County Council for a year before returning back to Kilmarnock as chief inspector of weights 8c measures, following his father Robin's retirement.
