Market: UK 2010 volumes will match 2009, says Iveco

UK - "Who could have predicted a near 40% drop in the CV market?" This was the opening remark of Andrea Bucci, commercial director, Iveco UK, at its 24th State of the Nation 2009 press conference in Coventry last month. To be more precise the van market from 2.8 to 6.5 tons fell by 40%, the traditional truck market above 3.51 tons fell 39% and the medium/heavy truck market, above 6.5 tons fell by 42%. Bucci said that he would be as optimistic as he could about 2010 but at best the market would be flat at around 34,000 to 35,000 units above 3.51 tons (2009: 34,746 units and 2008: 57,410).
