Investment/Expansion: New heavy truck transmission assembly plant for ZF in Pune

Germany/India - The Commercial Vehicle and Special Driveline Technology division of driveline component supplier, ZF Friedrich-shafen AG of Friedrichshafen, Germany, has opened an assembly plant with production capacity for 25,000 heavy truck transmissions in the industrial centre of Pune, India. The new heavy truck transmissions plant, which is located 150 kilometres fromMumbai - Pune is one of the three largest industrial centres in India - covers a production area of some 54,000 sq ft. This is twice that of the neighbouring ZF assembly plant of the ZF Off-Road Driveline Technology and Axle Systems division, which itself, was inaugurated at the beginning of 2010 offering a production area extending to approximately 26,000 sq ft.
