New engines and transmissions for Sprinter

Germany - Mercedes-Benz of Stuttgart has developed a new 4-cylinder diesel engine, designation OM651 and a re-engineered OM642 V6 engine, both meeting Euro 5 as standard for its Mercedes-Benz Sprinter light commercial vehicle range. EEV compliant engine variants are available as options. The Euro 5 emission standards becomes mandatory for vehicles above 3.5t gross vehicle weight from the autumn this year, whilst this standard will apply to commercial vehicles below this weight threshold from 2011.
