USA - Brake systems and in-cab modules supplier, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, headquartered in Elyria, Ohio is to expand its operations in Huntington, Indiana, by investing USD8.3m over the next three years in preparation for new business contracts with Hagerstown, Indiana-based refuse truck manufacturer, Autocar LLC and school bus builder, Blue Bird Corporation of Macon, Georgia. Bendix announced that it had been selected by Autocar to fit complete interior cab modules for its latest Autocar Xpeditor models. Bendix added that during the first week of October, the first cab module had rolled off the assembly line of a newly renovated 75,000 sq ft facility initially dedicated to the Autocar business. Bendix went on to state that the facility represented substantial growth for the Bendix modules business and that with the addition of the Autocar 'dressed' cab, Bendix now delivered solutions for the complete menu of commercial vehicle modules.
